Cineworld Gloucester Quays screen discounted screenings of kids' films to help introduce children to the exciting world of cinema, and this weekend the Movies For Juniors choice is the Incredibles 2! This hilarious and entertaining Pixar production shows the return of Helen, who is called to lead a campaign to bring Supers back, while Bob navigates the day-to-day heroics of 'normal' life at home with Violet, Dash and baby Jack-Jack, whose superpowers are about to be discovered! New Year’s Eve

Junior Knitting Club is perfect for young beginner knitters, offering a chance to learn from the established adult group, creating simple projects that can be given as gifts while picking up a new hobby! From 3pm - 4pm at Tuffley Library, and it’s completely FREE! Find out more.


New Year’s Day

Does your little one dream of being a pilot? Look to the skies this New Year’s Day for Junior Pilots Wanted Day at Jet Age Museum, where fun, games, quizzes and skills tests ensue! Learn how to master the skies and find out more about the art of flying, as well as enjoying the fantastic aviation displays. 2nd January

At All My Friends Holiday Club, children ages 4-12 are encouraged to participate in activities of their choice, supervised by an enthusiastic team of experienced and qualified playworkers, who also make provision for those who need a few quieter moments during the day. Activities include outdoor games, sport, messy play, arts, crafts, cooking, music, dance, drama and local outings. Full, half and short day options are available through until Friday, with prices from £17.50 per child. Find out more.


3rd January

Gloucester Library invites 2 - 4 year olds to attend their Story Time Session! From 10am - 10:30am enjoy magical adventures from the pages of some of your favourite books, all for FREE! Find out more.


4th January

Gloucester Library is spoiling us! Exciting, interactive storytelling of the Velveteen Rabbit from 2pm - 3pm, with thanks to the Hammerpuzzle Theatre Company. Best suited to ages 3 - 7 and their families, this will be a lovely afternoon, evoking heartwarming imagery for little and big kids alike! 5th January

Head out of town for some fresh air and head to Barnwood Arboretum, a lovely outdoor area and habitat for birds, insects and small mammals. Take your little ones for a stroll and explore quirky trees, duck pond, wild flowers and on occasion spot a rogue friendly sheep or two who holiday there in the winter! It’s FREE too! 6th January

Round off the holidays with an hour of fun at the Super Hero New Year Disco! Meet the characters from Enchanting Story Book Parties, including Spider Hero, Bat Hero and Super Girl! Feast from the buffet, get your face painted, browse the stalls and throw some shapes at the disco!
