Easter Hunts in Gloucestershire 2023

Looking for some super egg-citing activities to keep your littles ones entertained this Easter? Step into spring and head to some cracking Easter trails all the family will enjoy.

Easter Egg Hunts in Gloucestershire

Cheeky Chicks Easter Trail at Gloucester Cathedral: Hunt a flock of naughty chicks that have escaped in the cathedral! When you spot one of the run-aways, mark a sticker on the trail sheet to reveal the answer to the trail. A great activity for families, this event is free of charge (you can make an optional donation to the cathedral if you wish). Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April (excluding Good Friday), 10am – 5pm. NestFest Egg Hunt at Sudeley Castle: Explore the grounds of this historic castle and try and find six giant eggs and the birds they belong to by matching the eggs with the nests. Collect an Easter treat at the end of the egg hunt. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, included with a general admission ticket (a family ticket costs £43.20 for 2 adults and 2 children). Farm-themed Easter Egg Hunt at Over Farm, Gloucester: Help the Easter bunny discover her lost eggs in the Easter garden – there’s more than 2,000 to find! This springtime egg-stravaganza also features child-friendly shows and an Easter bunny dance-along. Saturday 1st – Monday 10th April, 9.30am – 4.30pm, costs vary. Find out more.


Easter Trail at Chedworth Roman Villa: Calling all Roman gladiators! Head over to Chedworth Roman Villa to take part in a special family Easter trail with games and puzzles along the way and an Easter treat at the end of your journey. Grab your bunny ears and a trail sheet and find out what it was like living in one of the grandest villas in Roman Britain. Saturday 1st – Monday 10th April, 10am – 4.30pm (last entry 4pm). Costs £3 per trail and includes an Easter trail sheet, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg. Find out more.


Duck Detectives Easter Trail at Slimbridge Wetland Centre: Try and quack the clues on this Easter trail to investigate the mystery of the missing duck. Use your sleuthing prowess to follow the clues (including feathers, bird calls and footprints) to crack the case. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 9.30am – 4.30pm. Easter Egg Hunt at Newark Park: A nature-inspired family-friendly Easter trail through the beautiful garden of Newark Park, Wotton-under-Edge. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 10am – 5pm (last entry 4pm). Tickets are £3 per trail and include an Easter trail sheet, pencil, bunny ears and chocolate egg. Normal admission charges apply. The Brewery Quarter’s Big Easter Hunt, Cheltenham: The Easter bunny will be leaving clues and chocolate eggs for children and families to find – with a chance to land a big prize! When you discover an egg clue, scan a QR code to receive a letter clue, which will also come with a message, secret offer or chocolate treat. Find all 15 letters and solve the Easter word or phrase, and you’ll be entered into a special draw to win £200 to spend in Brewery Quarter venues. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April. Find out more.


Easter Trail at Cotswold Farm Park: Little ones will love this year’s Easter trail (and lots of other egg-citing activities on the farm park). Meet some new born lambs and watch baby chicks hatch out. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 9.30am - 4.30pm daily. Dragon Eggs Discovered! at Painswick Rococo Garden: Use your superpowers to find the dragon eggs hidden in the gardens this Easter (you might have to do a lot of egg-sploring in the gardens and maze!). The trail includes a chocolate prize. Costs £2.50 per child plus standard admission. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 10am – 5 (last entry for egg trail is 4pm). Find out more.


Easter Egg Hunt at Snowshill Manor: Join the Easter adventure trail and explore the arts and craft garden as you hunt for Easter eggs. Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 11am – 5.30pm (last entry 4.30pm). The Easter trail costs £3 per person and includes a map, pencil, bunny ears and a chocolate egg reward. Find out more.


The Big Batsford Bunny Hunt, Batsford Arboretum: Search the arboretum for the Easter bunny’s helpers to win a prize! Saturday 1st – Sunday 16th April, 9.30am – 5pm. Costs £3 per child plus admission fees. Find out more.


Easter Trail, Gloucester Park: Join the Gloucester Park Easter Trail and unscramble letters, find eggs, follow maps and answer questions at this fun family event – all for free! Every child who completes the trail will receive an Easter egg prize. Pick up an Easter trail pack from the bandstand on Sunday 2nd April between 10 and 11am and return your finished pack between 11am and 12pm to collect your prize. Find out more.


Good Friday Easter Trail, Cleeve Common: Fun for all the family – follow the trail of clues on a circular walk around the picturesque common answering all the questions to find your way back and collect your prize. This is a popular event so booking is advised. Friday 7th April, 1 – 4pm. Costs £3 per child (adults free). Find out more.


Coronation Chicken Easter Treasure Hunt at Eastnor Castle: Hunt for clues around the castle and grounds on this egg-cellent Easter treasure hunt and help celebrate the coronation of a new monarch! There’s a chocolate treat for wining entries and a chance to win an enormous edible treat in a special prize draw. Friday 7th – Monday 10th April, 10.30am – 5pm. Adults £14, children (3-15 years) £8. Easter Trail at the Cotswold Country Park and Beach: Use your trail map and follow the clues to hunt out painted eggs hidden around the Cotswold Country Park (and keep an eye out for the Easter bunny!). When you reach the end of the trail, you will receive a yummy Easter egg. Friday 7th – Monday 10th April, 10am – 5pm daily, £6 per ticket. Find out more.


The Friends of Hatherley Park Easter Egg Hunt: The hunt is on to find hidden eggs left by the Easter bunny in Hatherley Park! Fun for all ages, also homemade cakes and drinks. Saturday 8th April, 2pm – 4pm. Costs £2 per egg hunter (cash only). Find out more.

We Are the Romans Family Trail at the Corinium Museum, Cirencester: Take a trip back in time as you explore the museum’s galleries on the hunt for Roman characters including emperors, gladiators and scribes. Collect a sticker when you finish the trail! Runs until 30th April, Monday – Saturday, 10am – 4pm and Sunday 2 – 4pm. Adults £7.40, children (aged 5–16) £4.70. Find out more.


Spring Family Trail, Westonbirt Arboretum: Connect with nature and awaken your senses on this wonderful woodland trail. Pick up a free family activity trail map and journey through the forest to discover the magic of springtime. A self-guided trail suitable for children aged 5 years and over. Zog Activity Trail, Westonbirt Arboretum: Join Zog on his latest adventure in this new family activity trail through the forest. Collect golden stars along the way and learn about how to care for the forest, and how it cares for you. Suitable for families with children aged 3-9. Runs until 19th September, 9am – 5pm daily.
