Moomin ABC Exhibition – A Magical Interactive Experience

As part of the Moomin 80 programme in Gloucester, families are invited to step into the whimsical world of Moominvalley this Spring and Summer at the Museum of Gloucester. This immersive interactive exhibition, created by the award-winning Bakehouse Factory, brings Tove Jansson's iconic characters and stories to life through augmented reality, creative activities, and engaging displays.

What to Expect:

  • Discover seven Moomin characters with special AR features.
  • Learn about Tove Jansson and her famous Moominhouse through a mini-documentary.
  • Get assigned a Moomin buddy by scanning your hand.
  • Play Hopescotch and explore the ABC of feelings.
  • Read stories in a tipi, climb log stumps, or relax in a woodland setting.
  • Measure yourself on the ‘How Tall Wall’ alongside a Moomin.
  • Dress up for an adventure and create a magnetic Moomin scene.
  • Get creative in the craft areas, writing letters, coloring, or taking part in themed activities.

Tickets & Pricing:

  • Under 4s: FREE (ticket required)
  • Child (4-15): £5
  • Adult (16+): £8.50
  • Family (4 people, including at least one child): £20

Your ticket grants you one hour in the exhibition, with limited spaces per session to ensure a comfortable experience. A Moomin pop-up shop will be available for visitors to take home special souvenirs.

This event is part of Moomin 80, celebrating the 80th anniversary of The Moomins, with Gloucester hosting one of the UK’s special public art commissions inspired by The Moomins and the Great Flood.
