There's a FREE Halloween trail taking over Gloucester city centre this half term, with ten friendly ghosts to find and a mystery word to solve. It's a lovely excuse to get the kids out exploring, and there's a chance to win a £50 Gloucester Gift Card too!
Ten Friendly Little Gloucester Ghosts Trail
Date: Saturday 24 October to Monday 2 November 2026

Location: Participating businesses across Gloucester city centre

Ten friendly little ghosts have hidden themselves around Gloucester city centre, and it's your job to track them down!
Pick up a FREE trail map from Gloucester Library, just off Northgate Street, then head off in search of the ghosts hiding in participating businesses. Each one is holding a letter, so keep a note of what you find. Once you've collected all ten, unscramble the letters to reveal the mystery word.
The ghosts have all been individually hand-painted by local artist Jemma Skidmore, so they're worth keeping an eye out for!
Once you've cracked the code, grown-ups can submit the mystery word online for a chance to win a £50 Gloucester Gift Card.
Worth knowing: The trail finishes on Monday 2 November, but competition entries are open until midnight on Tuesday 3 November 2026. Entrants must be aged 16 or over.
A bit of fresh air, a Halloween challenge and not a penny to spend on the activity. Happy ghost hunting!
