Children's Activity Days at Nature in Art!
The Wild Escape
The Wild Escape encourages young people to create artwork, imagining how animals can “escape” the museum and journey back to their natural habitat.
If booking on the day make sure you call the museum to book!
Children’s Activities Days:
Morning Session 10.00-11.30
Afternoon session 13.00-14.30
£8 per child (This includes entry for child and 1 adult into the Museum).
*Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. *
Wednesday 16th August – Bird Mask/Wand
Children will be given a bird mask and a bird wand and will decorate it using different materials – leaves, feathers, sequins, ribbon etc

Friday 18th August – Under the Sea Collage
Children will create an “Under the Sea” themed collage using pieces of material, buttons, ribbons, net etc.

Tuesday 22nd August – Dots, Dots and more Dots
Children will create a picture using dots, dots and more dots. We will use different tools to create different sized dots and explore the effects that can be made.

Wednesday 23rd August – Chalk Flowers
Children will be inspired by the flowers in Nature in Arts Garden and will use chalk to draw the flowers.

Thursday 24th August – Fabric Flowers
Children will be making fabric flowers using scraps of fabric. They will push the fabric scraps into a stryofoam ball, which creates the petals. A great way to use up fabric scraps and make a flower that lasts.

Friday 25th August – Weaving with Wool
Children will learn how to weave using wool.

Monday 28th August – Fabric Letter Collage
Children will be using scraps of fabric to create a collage of the first letter of their name.

Tuesday 29th August – Fairy Garden
Children will be given a variety of materials to make a fairy garden.

Wednesday 30th August – Garden Silhouette
Children will paint a background using watercolours. They will then cut out silhouettes – flowers and animals – to add to their background.

Thursday 31st August – Hammering Flowers
Cruel but effective. Children will be hammering flowers – which prints them onto the fabric.
