Indoor & Outdoor

The Museum, Coffee Shop, Gift Shop and Gruffalo Trail are now open Thursday to Sunday 10am to 3pm.

With so much to explore and learn at the Dean Heritage Centre it’s time to plan your visit.

If the weather isn't looking good, you can take advantage of our Rainy Day Guarantee: The Centre has both indoor and outdoor exhibits - but if you cannot enjoy the outdoor activities due to heavy rain and flooding, we'll give you a voucher to come back free of charge, within the following month, when the weather is better.

DOGS: Dogs are welcome in our Coffee Shop and gift shop but currently are not allowed into the Museum or grounds including the Gruffalo Trail. You are very welcome to use our large car park as a base to explore the surrounding area. With Soudley ponds over the road and a brilliant Geology trail accessed in the village it's a great place to explore. Our cafe always has treats available for your four legged friends and even has dog friendly ice-cream!

Please note that our car park is locked 30 minutes after closing.

Current Admissions

Things are still a little different. There are no buttons to push, dressing up and gallery activity boxes have been removed, colouring and  craft are not currently available and we have reduced opening times. To reflect this we have reduced entrance prices as follows:
Adult - £5
Child - £4
Concession - £4
Gruffalo Trail only - £3
Under 3's - free
Gift Aid involves form filling and requires greater interaction between volunteers, staff and visitors which increases risk to all so will be suspended for the time being. This will have an impact on what we can claim from the Government so if you usually like to add gift aid a small extra donation can be made if you wish. There is a donation box on Reception, in Gallery 1 and in the car park.
