Sorry, there are no future dates available

Aged 16 - 30? Would you like to set up a festival, create events or run and promote your own nights? Come along to the Gloucester Producer and Promoter Workshop, organised as part of Gloucester Culture Trust’s Great Place talent development programme, delivered by Strike A Light.

The Gloucester Producer and Promoter Workshop is a chance to develop your skills in and find out more about:

  • Producing festivals
  • Touring shows
  • Creating events
  • Promoting gigs and regular nights

Over 11 weeks you’ll work with other aspiring producers and promoters, meet and hear from different festivals and events professionals to build your network and look at different areas of producing and promoting including:

  • Programming and booking performers
  • Marketing and promotion
  • Fundraising and managing budgets
  • Managing live events

You’ll be given a budget to create and manage an event and we will work with you to secure a placement to get hands-on experience. If you’re 16 - 30 years, live in Gloucester or want to get involved with the Gloucester events scene then this is for you.

You could already be running your own events and want to build your network and develop your career. Or you could just be interested in festivals and events and want to find out more.

The placement you do can be tailored to suit your commitments and the opportunities you’re interested in. There’s no minimum number of hours required so you might want to shadow someone on an event for a day or two, or take on a role in a festival team for a couple of weeks.

Sessions take place in Gloucester on a Wednesday between 7pm - 9pm on the following dates: 24th April, 1st May, 8th May, 15th May, 22nd May, 29th May, 5th June, 12th June, 19th June, 26th June and 3rd July. There will also be the chance to work on the Gloucester Rooftop Festival 5th - 7th July.

Each session will be in a different Gloucester venue but all venues will be in the city centre and easy to get to from bus stops etc. All sessions are FREE!

You can apply online here, if you’d rather talk through in person or on the phone instead of applying in writing then get in touch, or email christina@strikealightfestival.org.uk.
