The Phoenix Players present A Matter of Life and Death, a romantic drama by Tom Morris and Emma Rice, directed by Yvonne Roe. This is an amateur production.

1945 - His Lancaster on fire, his crew dead, his parachute gone, a young pilot jumps to certain death. His last words are to a girl he has never met. ' I love you June. You are life and I am leaving you.' But a classic English pea-souper has caused an angelic blunder. Peter Carter miraculously survives and finds June. However, to stay alive Peter must plead his case before the Universal Court of Appeal in Heaven. Who will be his Counsel? Inspired by Powell and Pressburger's 1946 film this wonderfully romantic story was first performed at the National Theatre in 2007. This is the final production of The Phoenix Players 60th season.
